Solve Your Retention Problems

No one needs to tell you how frustrating it is to get someone to your site, convince them to sign up, and then have him or her leave. But let me share an analogy that may help you fix this:
Grab a small bag of Lego’s. The Lego sales pitch (brilliant) is “One Bag, Infinite Toys”. Business is much the same. You can make any business out of the same basic blocks – and – certain blocks are too valuable to remove or replace.
Is your software a key ‘Lego block’ in your customers operations?
Ask your team to brainstorm a few cool designs but limit them to 10 or 20 blocks. Pick an unusual block and label it “Our Product”; can the team make that block central to their design? Would the design suffer from the loss of that block? This should give each person valuable perspectives on the analogy – if your customers’ business does not suffer through the loss of your service then you’re not in deep enough.
